Building robots, creating games, animating kids’ love for computer science

Responding to a decline in the number of U.S. college graduates with advanced Computer Science and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (CS-STEM) degrees, Carnegie Mellon University and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) developed the Computer Science Network (CS2N) as a collaborative research project designed to increase the number of students pursuing advanced CS-STEM degrees. The online hub features activities and courses that teach kids how to program virtual robots, animations, games, and webpages.
