Art and design learning in a modern, cooperative space

The Digital Design Center at Chartiers Valley High School is a STEAM learning lab where courses in design and art are taught in a contemporary environment conducive to creativity. Full of soft chairs, group tables and colorful artwork, the space also includes professional design and video equipment not typically found in high schools. Led by Digital Arts teacher, Christopher McHugh, this “classroom of the future” received a STEAM Grant from the AIU’s Center for Creativity and aims to balance spontaneous and specified learning, allowing students to work more closely with each other on projects through its modern, innovative design.
