Accessible Music Performance Software (AMPS)

AMPS brings music to children with special health needs, allowing them to compose with gestures.

Accessible Music Performance Software (AMPS) for Kids creates gesture-activated systems to enable children with special healthcare needs to compose music. Developed by the School of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh with help from music teachers and students, systems already serve populations at the Children’s Institute and the Western PA School for Blind Children. With AMPS programs AMPSequential and AMPSimultaneous, music is brought to kids who otherwise would not be able to produce it.
