Pittsburgh Science & Technology Academy

Educating the next generation of engineers, scientists, inventors and mathematicians

The Pittsburgh Science & Technology Academy (SciTech) is a grades 6-12 magnet school of the Pittsburgh Public Schools system where any student with an interest in science, technology, engineering, or math can develop skills for a career in life science, environmental science, computing, or engineering. Our curriculum is tailored to students who have a passion for science, technology, engineering or math. Our environment is one of extraordinary support for students, parents, and faculty. We exist to provide opportunities for students to Dream. Discover. Design. Every day our students set goals and generate ideas, research and discover answers, and design real solutions for the kinds of real-world problems that they’ll face after graduation.

SciTech is located in the heart of Oakland at the historic Frick building. This location gives students and staff easy access to Pittsburgh’s renowned universities and world class resources in science, technology, engineering and math. SciTech opened for the first time on September 3, 2009 welcoming 250 students in grades six through nine. Each day a diverse group of students from across Pittsburgh comes to school with smiling faces, professional dress, and a positive attitude. They are ready to make the most of the opportunity to attend a school that is more than just a school. SciTech is a launching pad for new ideas, for the architects of future technologies, and for success for every student.
