Connecting individuals with sustainability content and experiential pedagogies

Chatham University’s Eden Hall Campus K-12 Programs provide opportunities for students, teachers, administrators and families to connect with sustainability content and experiential pedagogies. We partner with schools to encourage the use of sustainability content as an integrating context between the disciplines and as a catalyst for student-driven community transformation. When schools inspire students to take on real projects in their communities, Chatham helps those schools and students to celebrate and share-out with their peers throughout the region. We offer field trips to campus, transportation scholarships to support travel for these field trips, student project conferences, educator events and fellowships as well as a Sustainability Leadership Academy summer program for high school students.

Located in Richland, PA and home to the Falk School of Sustainability, Chatham University’s Eden Hall Campus is far more than a 388-acre plot of land. It’s the embodiment of a commitment Chatham makes every day to support sustainability and environmental education. At Eden Hall, the campus doesn’t just house classrooms, but is a classroom. It’s an international showcase of possibilities and a laboratory where faculty and students collaborate to develop the next-generation tools and processes that will provide social, economic, and environmental benefits to our communities and to our world.

Field trips to the Eden Hall Campus are currently available for students in grades 4-12, and will be expanding to younger grades soon. We are very open to partnerships and other joint initiatives with schools and districts that serve all ages. We also serve families and adults through separate workshop programming, festivals, events, camps, volunteer opportunities and public concerts in our outdoor amphitheater throughout the year.
