The Arcade Comedy Theater, located in downtown Pittsburgh, has classes for students of all ages and performances that cater to adults and kids alike. Though most shows are recommended for ages 18 and up, the Theater hosts up to four all ages family shows each month, including the monthly Penny Arcade Family Comedy that is specifically targeted at children K-6. The newest addition to the city’s downtown theater district, the Arcade Comedy Theater is still growing, and has plans to offer more youth shows and classes starting in the fall of 2014.
The 501c3, non-profit theater, opened in February of 2013, is an intimate 75-seat space which hosts stand-up comedians, improvisational artists, sketch shows, vaudevillian variety acts, comedic videos, live play readings, and humorous performers of all types. Tickets generally range from $5-20, depending on the event, with most shows at a $10 ticket price. With a BYOB alcohol policy and even a working pinball machine in the lobby, the Arcade provides a unique, fun, and affordable addition to the Pittsburgh cultural district.
