The Center for Creativity at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit and Intermediate Unit 1 serves teachers in 67 school districts across 4 counties.

The Center for Creativity (CfC) is a collaboration between the Allegheny Intermediate Unit and Intermediate Unit 1, serving Washington, Fayette and Greene counties. The CfC provides preK-12 educators with instructional resources, grant opportunities, professional development and networking opportunities as they integrate STEAM learning and literacy into teaching and learning practices.

One of the programs the CfC operates is the Allegheny STEAM Grant initiative, supporting educational programs that integrate STEAM fields within the school districts. Since 2009, approximately 80 schools have received STEAM grants, totaling nearly $1 million in support, enabling schools to design creative opportunities for their students to utilize 21st Century skills critical to success in the contemporary world.
