Pittsburgh is a place where we all belong.

This city owes its resilience to the spirit and creative energy of the people who have made Pittsburgh their home, built communities here, and contributed to our shared future. At this critical time in our nation’s history, when many immigrants and refugees don’t feel welcome in this country, The Sprout Fund and its partners seek to positively affirm the notion that we all “belong” through a community art initiative.

Sprout is inviting people living in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County to submit original works of art that express the concept of “belonging.” Submissions will be selected through a combination of juried art processes and public voting.

The design with the highest artistic merit will be produced as a poster and yard sign and distributed free of charge throughout Pittsburgh and Allegheny County by Sprout and its partners. Additional designs will be included on a “collection of community voices” poster. Selected designs will be freely available for download, and all submissions will be displayed online as a record of the community’s response.
