An estimated 50 percent of STEM jobs will be in fields related to computer science (CS) by 2018. More than 90 percent of parents want to see CS curriculum in schools, but only about 25 percent of schools offer high-quality coding and programming courses (Source.) Teachers are key to bringing exciting CS experiences to their students. With the right support, teachers can be the change agents that turn the corner in CS education. We will discuss just how that can happen!
Nikki Navta, CEO of Zulama, will host the conversation. Our panel of guests includes Emmanuel Schanzer, Founder and Program Director at Bootstrap; Lynn Vanderzyl, Zulama Computer Science Teacher at Harmony High School; and Marina Theodotou, Director of Professional Development at the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA).
