Apply for a summer internship at Dr. Hanna Salman’s laboratory at Pitt’s Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences in the Physics and Astronomy Department. Funded by the National Science Foundation, this internship starts July 6, 2015 and requires 30 hours per week for 4 weeks.

The internship aims to help two teams learn biological physics lab techniques, by participating in current research conducted in the laboratory of Dr. Hanna Salman. Each team will be formed of one high school science teacher and one high school student. At the end of the internship, the teams are expected to evaluate their project and determine which aspects of it could possibly be added to the high school’s science curriculum, and assist in sharing this work with their schools and other high schools in the Pittsburgh area.
Prior knowledge of biological physics is NOT expected, however priority will be given to those with some background in physics or biology.
